Happy Cancer season!

It officially starts very late tonight EST (or on Saturday morning for time zones ahead). I’m hopeful for this Cancer season, since the Sun will be co-present with Jupiter in this sign, which will give it a more optimistic and open minded spin. Now that Jupiter has been out of Gemini for a few days, I’m realizing how scattered my focus was over the past year. It was like I wanted to be everywhere at once, but at the same time wasn’t accomplishing anything super important. So I’m excited for this shift to Cancerian energy, as it will likely feel more meaningful and nurturing. As usual, I will first be going over the main transits for the month ahead, and then paid subscribers can read on to understand what all of this means for each rising sign.

The main underlying transit for Cancer season is that the Sun is moving through this cardinal, water sign from June 20 - July 22. In general, Cancer is a sign that is associated with the home, family, your roots, and the past. So one or possibly all of these areas become a bigger focus for you in the coming weeks. You may want to tend to more activities around the home, like hosting people, redecorating, or moving. Or you could be reflecting more on family dynamics or reaching out to family members. I personally get super nostalgic and pretty emotional about childhood during Cancer season, so feelings like that could come up too.

The first couple of days of Cancer season are tricky, as the Sun in Cancer squares Saturn and then Neptune in Aries throughout June 22-23. So during that couple day period, you may feel kind of frustrated, confused, or uncertain about a situation, or you may feel emotionally heavy or tired. Sticking to a routine and maybe spending time offline will help you here, as Sun-Neptune transits tend to make you extra sensitive to other people’s energy and can also drag you into a comparison trap.

You will be brushing off this heavier energy on June 25, when we get a pleasant new moon in Cancer. This new moon will be happening at 4 degrees of Cancer and will be in an exact conjunction with Jupiter. You can think of this new moon as kickstarting bigger themes that will be unfolding in the Cancer ruled house of your chart not only this month but over the course of the next year, as Jupiter stays on in this part of your chart until July 2026. Also, all of the above points we went over about home, family, and your emotional self will be amplified right around June 25.

A day later, Mercury moves into Leo on June 26. This is an extra important Mercury transit, because Leo is the sign where Mercury will station retrograde in July, right at the tail end of Cancer season from July 18 - August 11. Starting at the end of June, notice how you’re already thinking way more about the Leo ruled house of your chart and Leo related themes like self confidence, personal creativity, hobbies outside of work, etc. You may feel an urge to start reworking some of the themes related to the Leo ruled house too, and you could want to restructure that part of your life, but still be unsure of what that would look like. Greater clarity will come there once we get ot the middle of August. On June 28-29, Mercury in Leo will oppose Pluto in Aquarius, so you may encounter some type of power dynamic in a relationship, or you could be fixating too much on a situation. On a more positive note, this transit could be helpful with deeper research or reflection.

Then we’ve got a couple of Gemini transits taking place right at the start of July. First, Venus moves into Gemini on July 4 and will remain in this sign until July 31. Right after that, Uranus moves into Gemini on July 7, changing signs for the first time since 2019. Uranus is just dipping its toe into Gemini until early November, before fully returning to this sign from April 2026 - May 2033. With both Venus and Uranus moving into Gemini, there is this social, community oriented aspect that will pick back up again. So maybe the first part of Cancer season is a bit more home focused or introverted before greater outreach and forming new connections takes place in early-mid July. You could also want to shake up the way you think about community, or maybe you’re wanting to branch out and form brand new friendships or romantic relationships.

July 10 brings a full moon in Capricorn, which will be happening at 18 degrees of this sign. This full moon will shift your attention back to work and responsibilities, and you may be reflecting on what is worth committing to in the long term. You will want to look at the Capricorn ruled house of your chart to note where these bigger realizations might be popping up. This full moon and the days that immediately surround it will be the busiest time out of the entire month. In addition, the ruling planet of this full moon is Saturn, which is currently in Aries and about to station retrograde on July 13. Therefore, that Aries ruled house of your chart will play a key role in this full moon too. You might be getting a better idea of what this longer Saturn transit in Aries will be about for you, as well as how you might put more work into these house themes. Saturn will return to Pisces during its retrograde and reenter Aries in February 2026, so you may be using the rest of the year to contemplate your next steps in this Aries ruled house of your chart before returning to it with renewed motivation and activity there early in the new year.

I mentioned this briefly above, but on July 18 Mercury retrograde starts in Leo. It will begin at 15 degrees of Leo and will backtrack to 4 degrees of Leo over the course of its retrograde, which ends on August 11. So as we get past the full moon and reach the end of Cancer season, you may be slowing down quite a bit. You could be reflecting on your next steps, and rather than pushing ahead with new opportunities, projects, relationships, etc, you may want to take more time to consider what is right for you. There may also be a plan or an opportunity that gets delayed at this time, or you’re reflecting more on your past. With it in the sign of Leo, there may be childhood interests or past hobbies you want to return to.

And on July 21, the very last day of Cancer season, Mars will meet up with the South Node in Virgo. I find that when Mars conjuncts/opposes the nodes, it brings the themes of the eclipses to light. So if nothing that major happened for you in the Virgo ruled house of your chart back in March during the Virgo lunar eclipse, expect notable activity to occur closer to this July 21 date. You may want to take greater action in this part of your chart and make an important decision or start something new there. You may be way more motivated with these house topics and they could require more energy from you. You may also be getting better organized or finding a routine in that part of your life.

Okay, let’s now get into what all of these transits mean for each rising sign….
