Libra Season Monthly Forecast
The Sun moves through Libra, Mercury into Libra then Scorpio, full moon in Aries, Venus into Virgo, Venus opposite Saturn, Mars into Scorpio, solar eclipse in Libra
Hi everyone,
Welcome back to the monthly forecast and happy (almost) Libra season! Like usual, I will be giving a brief overview of the major transits happening over the next four weeks, before I get into what all of this means for each rising sign. Libra rising will be first, so if you are Aries-Virgo rising, you will be scrolling to the bottom.
After a slow August and beginning of September, bigger changes are on the horizon for Libra season. The retrogrades have ended, and eclipse season is upon us. For anyone who has felt like they have been in a rut or simply unmotivated, expect those feelings to lift in the days to come. The main underlying theme for the next month is that the Sun is moving through Libra, from September 23 - October 23. Libra is associated with partnerships, compromise, and equality, so you may want to turn to others for their advice and support this month. Socializing and having closer, more intimate connections with people may be a theme that comes up. Libra season is a great time to date - it’s no coincidence that this time of the year aligns with “cuffing season.” Also, Mars has already been in Libra since the end of August, so having the Sun there as well will bring up the themes associated with the Libra ruled house of your chart even more strongly.
The first major event for the month is the full moon in Aries, which takes place on September 29. This will happen at 6 degrees of Aries, so anyone with Aries placements right around that degree will feel the impact of the full moon the most. The full moon is typically the busiest period of the month, where you’re seeing visible results or coming full circle with whatever you’ve been working on in the couple weeks leading up to it. It can also be a time of making important realizations or having buried emotions come to the surface. Because this full moon is in the sign of Aries, and it will be happening opposite to its ruler Mars, which is currently in Libra, there might be some aggressive energy that comes up, or you may have the desire to act quickly and make fast decisions. You may find yourself in a heated discussion with someone around the full moon, or you may end up reacting quickly to something, without taking time to reflect. Be wary of being too impulsive or rushing to conclusions though.
On October 5, Mercury finally leaves Virgo and moves into Libra. That makes three planets now in Libra: the Sun, Mars and Mercury, so there’s a huge emphasis on this sector of your chart. Because of its retrograde, Mercury has been in Virgo since the end of July, so this will be a welcome shift. Libra is a sign that is very creative and all about human connection, so you will likely feel even more social in the days following the 5th, or your thoughts might be centering around your personal aesthetic, creative ideas, or your love life. It may also be that you are wanting to hear the advice and opinions of other people, and it could be easier to communicate in your relationships.
However, there is a not so great transit also taking place on October 5, which is Mars meeting up with the South Node in Libra. I have found that when Mars forms a conjunction with either of the nodes or squares them by transit, there are often themes of anger, protest, or violence that come up in world events, so I will be watching the news to see what arises around this date.
On October 9, Venus moves into Virgo. This is another major transition, because Venus has been in Leo since the beginning of June. So you’re closing out one chapter that has been going on for you since then - check the Leo ruled house of your chart for further insight in what that might be. Venus entering Virgo will also help to smooth over the Virgo part of your chart, where you’ve likely been facing confusion and frustration throughout July, August and September, with Mars and then Mercury retrograde moving through there. Venus will help to bring about a resolution with those themes and restore balance. Where there were once delays and setbacks, you may start to finally see some positive opportunities coming through. However, Venus immediately opposes Saturn on the same day it moves into Virgo. Around October 9-10, you may have to face the reality of a relationship, and this transit can often put strain on both friendships and romantic situations. You’re figuring out if a relationship has the potential to work in the long term.
On October 12 Mars moves into Scorpio, after being in Libra since the end of August. Mars will be in Scorpio until November 24, Mars does a lot better in this sign, because it is the ruling planet of Scorpio. So you may have more energy to finish what you start at work, or you could find it easier to stand up for yourself or assert your ideas during this period. This transit is also great for doing intensive research or anything that requires a lot of focus and determination. Mars in Scorpio will also foreshadow the themes that you can anticipate for Scorpio season, which we will get into more in next month’s newsletter.
Finally, we get to the main event of the month: the solar eclipse in Libra on October 14. Eclipses are big periods for change, and they are usually pivotal turning points in the year that happen every six months. This is the first of two eclipses that we will have this fall (the next will be mentioned in the Scorpio season forecast). A major new beginning or ending may occur in the Libra ruled house of your chart that will continue to play out over the course of the rest of this year and next. Because this is a solar eclipse, results likely won’t be visible yet, but those initial next steps will be taken. For those of you with a Libra sun, moon or rising, this eclipse will be more major for you. You’ve probably felt like you’re on the brink of a major new chapter in your life, and this eclipse will likely serve to set you off in a different direction. Very meaningful, significant life events will likely take place for you this year and next.
A few days later, on October 18 - 19, both the Sun and Mercury will meet up and together pass over the South Node in Libra. Around this date, you may be busy with writing or speaking related work, or you could have a flurry of social activity arise. However, there may also be a theme of release that is going on, or you could realize how you may need to overcome certain patterns in the Libra ruled house of your chart.
Mercury zooms through Libra quickly this month, and by October 22 it will be moving into Scorpio. Whereas your thoughts may centered around social activities or discussing topics related to the arts, travel or creativity for most of Libra season, you will notice a serious shift around this date. You could suddenly be more interested in doing in depth research on a particular topic, or you may want to go deeper in your conversations with people and discuss topics like sexuality, psychology, finances, or mortality.
Now that we’ve gone over all the major transits for the month ahead, let’s get into what exactly this means for each rising sign…
