Aquarius season was a whirlwind! Between Jupiter stationing direct and the Sun-Mercury cazimi in Aquarius that both happened in early February, it was a time for generating ideas and connecting with people. Now that Pisces season is beginning, expect to be slowing down a bit and shifting your attention inwards over the next month. Pisces season is always a transitional time of year, as one astrological year winds down in preparation for the fresh start that Aries season brings. For this year specifically though, the next month may feel extra reflective, like you’re not seeing the full picture of what’s to come yet.

Mars retrograde is ending at the start of Pisces season, but shortly after we have both Venus and Mercury retrogrades beginning. We will also be entering eclipse season, as we build to a lunar eclipse in Virgo, the first eclipse in this sign to have occurred since 2016. Looking at the next month as a whole, it may start off one way, but then end up wrapping up in a way that you didn’t quite anticipate. As always, I’ll first go over all of the significant transits happening this month, before paid subscribers can read on to find out what all of this means for their rising sign. Think of this as a mini reading that you can keep referring back to over the coming weeks.

The main underlying theme for Pisces season is that the Sun is transiting through this sign from February 18 - March 20. General Pisces season themes have to do with connecting more with your intuition and your sense of spirituality. Over the coming weeks, you may want to practice having greater compassion, both for yourself and for others. It could also feel like you’re able to pick up on the energy around you, and maybe you can more easily tap into when things feel off with someone, or if something doesn’t seem quite right. This is also a good time of year for leaning into creative pursuits, or finding some type of calming practice like journaling or meditation.

Right at the start of Pisces season, Mars retrograde will end on February 23. Hallelujah! Mars wraps up its two and a half month long retrograde at 17 degrees of Cancer. However, it won’t fully leave this sign until April 18. So you may finally start to feel like you have a better direction of what motivates you and what you want to put your energy towards as we head into late February and early March. Looking at the Cancer ruled house of your chart, things may not feel as confusing or frustrating there, and you could be ready to move forward in that part of your life again.

Shortly after, there will be a new moon in Pisces on February 27, happening at 9 degrees of this sign. The new moon will serve a reset for the month ahead, and in the days that immediately follow February 27, you may start to notice new opportunities, relationships, or mindset shifts occurring. This new moon will be aspecting its ruling planet, Jupiter in Gemini. So your emotions may be fluctuating a lot around this date, or again you might be deepening your connection to a spiritual practice or even looking to education or travel to help give your life deeper meaning. However, be wary of overcommitting yourself, because you may end up overwhelmed and not able to complete what you have promised.

March is when the chaos begins. Venus retrograde begins on March 1 at 10 degrees of Aries, and will last until April 12, when it will end at 24 degrees of Pisces. So throughout this entire six week long period, you may be reflecting on your relationships and who you truly value in your life. You may also be thinking about past relationship patterns you keep repeating and how you might learn from them in order to navigate your relationships differently moving forward. Also, check the house ruled by Aries to see where you could be returning to past interests that you had forgotten about, but may want to revisit this spring. The last time a Venus retrograde happened in Aries was around these same exact dates in 2017, so you may want to reflect back on what was happening in your life in regards to relationships, your creativity, or your personal finances at that time.

Two days later, Mercury moves into Aries on March 3. This is the sign that Mercury will station retrograde in on March 15, so again that Aries ruled house of your chart will be so important to watch this month. How are you feeling called to focus your attention there or maybe even restructure that part of your life? Recurring thoughts about something that might be bothering you or a problem you’re trying to solve might be popping up as soon as Mercury enters Aries. Mercury retrograde will last from March 15 - April 7, starting at 9 degrees of Aries and ending at 26 degrees of Pisces. So it’s a very similar degree range to the Venus retrograde, and anyone with chart placements that fall in late mutable signs or early cardinal signs will feel the effects of these two retrogrades the most.

On March 14, we will have a lunar eclipse in Virgo, which is not only the first eclipse of 2025, but the first Virgo eclipse we have had since 2016. This one is falling at 24 degrees of Virgo, in an opposition to both Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. Eclipses signal major turning points in the year, where you could be going through bigger changes or possibly experiencing significant endings or beginnings. See how there is greater activity and change happening in the Virgo ruled house of your chart at this time, and notice how that area of your life will continue to be a bigger deal not only over the next few months, but throughout the next two years. Because of this eclipse’s connection to Saturn and Neptune, you may be both assuming greater responsibilities or finding more structure in that area, but you could also be dissolving your past way of doing things there or still feel uncertain about the long term trajectory in that part of your life. This eclipse may feel kind of confusing, and that’s okay. You don’t need to have everything figured out in March. April will bring so much more clarity.

Let’s now get into what all of these transits mean for each rising sign….
