Sagittarius Season Monthly Forecast
Mercury retrograde begins, new moon in Sagittarius, t-square between Jupiter, Saturn and the Sun, Mars retrograde begins, Venus moves into Aquarius, full moon in Gemini
I don’t know about you guys, but last month was rough. This month we do have a couple of major retrogrades taking place, so I can’t make promises that it will be a ton easier, but hopefully the optimistic, outgoing spirit of Sagittarius will help to pull us through. As you will see, a lot of this month is geared towards reflection and restructuring, rather than quickly moving ahead and having things happen. Like always, I’m first going over the relevant transits to pay attention to over the next month, and then paid subscribers have access to what everything means for their individual rising sign. Think of this forecast as a mini reading that you can keep referring back to in the coming weeks.
The main underlying theme this month is that the Sun is moving through the sign of Sagittarius from November 21 until December 21. This is the time of the year when you might be thinking in bigger picture terms. Sagittarius is associated with your beliefs and your sense of spirituality, so you may be reevaluating if you need to make shifts in those areas. You could be releasing long held opinions or maybe you’re more outspoken about what you believe in. You may be drawn to areas like religion, astrology, or wanting to feel connected with something bigger than yourself in general. There will also be a greater excitement for learning, and you may be motivated to read, take a short course, or research into a different culture or topic you know little about. I always find myself wanting to start my mornings with a spiritual type book around this time of year. In addition, you might be more outgoing and social too, or you could have travel plans that you’re making.
However, Mercury retrograde is starting up in this same sign on November 25, so all of the above themes may feel a bit confusing, or you will be slowing down and thinking more carefully about these areas of your life. Mercury retrograde will last until December 15, so for the majority of Sagittarius season. This retrograde will encompass 6-22 degrees of Sagittarius, so if you have any planets or angles in the signs of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Gemini within that degree zone, you might be going through a bit of an identity crisis or you could realize that you need to make more significant changes in an area of your life. For everyone though, you may be entering into a slower period at work, or you could have to go back and revise something. There may be communication issues that come up in a relationship as well, or you could have recurring thoughts about a situation that is bothering you. Try to spend time reflecting on the best course of action during this time, rather than acting on impulse.
Continuing on with the Sagittarius transits, there is a new moon in Sagittarius happening on December 1 at 9 degrees of this sign. This new moon will amplify all of the Sagittarius themes we just went over. It will also serve as a reset for the next four weeks, so try to hold off until the days following the new moon to start something new or make a big announcement. If you can, I would hold off even further until after the retrograde lifts on the 15th, but if that’s not possible, after the 1st is your second best option. Greater momentum and energy will be building after this new moon occurs. The new moon is also trining Mars in Leo, but squaring Saturn in Pisces, so you may feel inspired to take action, but you could feel a bit held back or weighed down in getting there. You could also be facing the tough reality of a situation in your life, or you may have a heavier workload right around this early December time frame.
Meanwhile, the ruling planet of this new moon is Jupiter. Throughout that first week of December there is quite a bit of tension going on between Jupiter, the Sun, Mercury and Saturn, as they aspect each other all from mutable signs. You may feel a lot of action coming together across the Sagittarius, Gemini and Pisces ruled houses of your chart, but these could also be areas that are causing you frustration or burnout. This aspect configuration will ask you to make some changes though, and to act on anything you’ve been procrastinating on.
A few days later, Mars retrograde begins on December 6 in the sign of Leo. It will be backtracking into Cancer though by early January, and will later end in Cancer on February 23, 2025. This retrograde is kicking off a several month period of slowing down and reflecting on where you want to direct your energy next. You may feel unmotivated at the moment, or you could be uncertain about what you want to work towards in the long term. Instead of making any hasty decisions, I would focus on what has already been started. New opportunities will present themselves next spring, so this retrograde is a real practice in patience. Because it’s happening in the signs of Leo and Cancer, general themes that may come up could center around how you express yourself, finding new creative outlets, building self confidence, finding a greater sense of home and stability for yourself, or reflecting on family dynamics.
Immediately following this Mars retrograde starting, Venus moves into Aquarius, the sign opposite, on December 7 and will stay there until January 3. Venus in Aquarius is fun and will have you wanting to connect with all different types of people. Your social calendar may noticeably pick up, and you may want to branch out and widen your network. There are two key dates to watch within this Venus transit that may be a bit challenging with relationships though. One is December 7, when Venus meets up with Pluto. That may be a day where power dynamics come up in relationships, or you could be fixating on having a romantic relationship or friendship go a certain way. The other date to take note of is December 12, when Venus opposes Mars. That may be a particularly active day for your social life, but there could be irritation or tension that comes in a relationship too.
Finally, we wrap up the month with a full moon in Gemini on December 15, the same day that Mercury retrograde ends! The days leading up to the full moon will again be another super busy time out of the next month. Because it’s in Gemini, you may be focused on communication based tasks, like calls, meetings, writing, and overall conveying your ideas to people. You may see projects reach a turning point or get wrapped up by this date, or you could have a moment of realization, as you figure out what you want to change or do next in a certain area. This full moon is taking place at 23 degrees of Gemini, so mutable sign placements around that degree marker will feel the impact the most. It’s also in a loose square with Neptune in Pisces, so although the ruling planet, Mercury, is stationing direct that same day, there may still be some haziness or general confusion that you’re working through. You may also be particularly sensitive around this time.
Let’s now get into what everything means for each rising sign…
