Taurus Season Monthly Forecast
Sun in Taurus, T-square between Sun-Mars-Pluto, new moon in Taurus, Venus into Aries, Mercury into Taurus, full moon in Scorpio, and Mars trining Venus
Happy Taurus season!
We survived all of the retrogrades, and I’m excited for the month ahead. There are several planets changing signs in the coming weeks, and whereas the last couple of monthly forecasts have been so focused on Aries and Pisces transits, we are finally shifting away from those signs a bit and turning our attention to something new. Mars is officially out of Cancer, Mercury has left Pisces with Venus close behind, plus this is the last full month of Saturn in Pisces for a while. Overall, I see this Taurus season as a time for moving ahead, figuring out what you want to develop, or reflecting on how you might pivot in a different direction for the rest of the year.
As usual, we will first be going over all of the significant transits taking place this month before paid subscribers can read what this all means for their rising sign. Think of these monthly forecasts as a written reading for the month ahead that you can keep referring back to.
The underlying theme for this month is that the Sun is moving through the sign of Taurus from April 19 - May 20. Taurus season is a time for returning to the present moment and your physical self. Over the next few weeks you may want to connect to your body through hands-on activities, like cooking, crafts, or gentle exercise. You may also be more interested in clothing, beauty or design too, or you could be appreciating nature more and want to spend time outside. Taurus is also a sign that has to do with patience and being more deliberate in how you work and what you commit to.
Though I think of Taurus as one of the calmer signs of the zodiac, this won’t necessarily be the case throughout the first few days of this month. From April 20 up until the date of the new moon on the 27th, the Sun in Taurus will be squaring Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius, right as Mars and Pluto are building to an opposition with each other. So there will be this tense T-square configuration between these three planets across the fixed signs. You may be quick to get irritated during this time, or you could have a lot of pent up energy. Controlling dynamics may come up within relationships, or it may be that any conflict you encounter is urging you to transform the way you react.
Then we arrive at the new moon in Taurus on April 27, which will serve as a necessary reset. This new moon will be taking place at 7 degrees of Taurus, and again has that aspect with both Mars and Pluto mentioned above. So it may not be the easiest new moon, but you could feel determined in setting new goals or pursuing what you want, just don’t try to control the outcome so much. In the days immediately following the new moon, you may notice that opportunities and relationships are forming, or you could have better success with establishing new habits or mindsets for yourself. It’s important to check the house ruled by Taurus to see what themes you will want to build upon with this new moon.
In addition, the ruling planet of the new moon, Venus, will be in Pisces conjunct Saturn right around this time. You will feel this aspect building from around April 23 up until the new moon. This Venus-Saturn conjunction may have you feeling more conservative with money, and you could feel the urge to save or be more thoughtful of your purchases. You may also face some tension in a close relationship or need to put more effort into being a supportive friend or partner to someone.
On April 30, Venus finally leaves Pisces and moves into Aries until June 6. It will be retracing the steps it took in February before its retrograde began, so any interests or hobbies that came to you back then may be popping back up again. If you’ve recently faced frustration or delays in the Aries ruled house of your chart, you may be moving ahead with greater ease, or you may receive a positive opportunity or feedback in that area of your life. You could also be finding new ways to inject your creativity there.
The next big series of events will happen around the middle of May. First, Mercury leaves Aries and moves into Taurus on May 10. Mercury has been moving back and forth between Aries and Pisces since the middle of February, so this will be nice to finally shift your mental focus elsewhere. To reiterate some of the Taurus themes we went over at the start, you could be thinking more about your personal style or how you can get creative, both at work or with a side hobby. You may be putting your focus towards grounding activities too, like cooking, exercise, or being more in nature.
Soon after, there will be a full moon in Scorpio on May 12. This full moon will be happening at 22 degrees of Scorpio, in a pretty close opposition with Uranus in Taurus. This full moon will be the peak activity period of the month, where you may feel ready to launch or announce a project, or you could be coming together with people and engaging in more social events. However, you may feel a little unsettled or anxious with Uranus right there, or you may be identifying certain behaviors or emotions you want to understand better and possibly improve upon.
The ruling planet of the full moon is Mars, which will still be in Leo. So both lunations this month are very centered around Mars - the new moon because it’s square to Mars, and the full moon because Mars rules it. Therefore, the Leo ruled house of your chart will be very important to watch in terms of greater development and change this month. You may have greater direction or energy in that area of your life and with the themes represented by that house. Or you may be finding the most motivation when you’re tapping into your unique creativity or finding new ways to express yourself.
Finally, we close out the month with a nice trine building between Mars in Leo and Venus in Aries, which will eventually go exact early in Gemini season. So whereas that Mars transit of Leo may have felt tense earlier on in the month, you may notice that there’s greater flow there now. Having Venus and Mars connect across these two fire signs also shows that you may get sudden creative inspiration that you want to act on immediately (creativity is big this month as we’ve been seeing), or you may be actively reaching out to people, and either strengthening existing relationships or forming new ones.
And by the end of Taurus season, Saturn only has a week left in Pisces, so next month we will pick back up with that major Saturn transition into Aries. Now, let’s get into what everything means for your individual rising sign!
