When I first got into astrology and was trying to keep track of planetary transits, I kept a journal where I would enter in the transits happening each day, such as “moon in my 7th house” or “Venus conjunct Saturn” and then write about related events that took place. I also liked to revisit the past and look at the transits that had happened to my chart a couple of years prior, writing down notes like “2015: lunar eclipse in Aries, my 9th house - got accepted into grad school, moved to London” or “Spring 2016: Mars retrograde in Scorpio, my 4th house - roommate blew up at me and we got in huge fight.” I found this to be a helpful way to understand transits, because I was grounding the movement of the planets in real life events.
I still do this now, I just don’t write it down that often. Instead, I always keep a mental note in my head about what transits are happening when, and how that’s resulting in certain life changes and events. I also learn a lot of astrology every day by simply observing what is going on around me, whether that’s in the news, with celebrities, or in the lives of both myself and the people I know. Therefore, I thought it could be a fun exercise to chronicle a week in my life and show how the astrology ties in with certain events, no matter how minor they might be. A lot of the time, transits don’t signify major, earth shattering life changes, but rather they help give meaning and perspective to the smaller happenings in your everyday life. Let me know what you think of this format, and if you want to track your own transits, you can do so here.
Sunday night, February 2.
While watching the Grammy’s with my husband, I pulled up a few of the nominees’ birth charts and made some quick predictions on who I thought would win. The first chart I pulled up was that of Sabrina Carpenter, and I stated that she would win something, based on the fact that the moon was in Aries that night, transiting the 10th house of her chart, coming up on a conjunction with the ruling planet of her Midheaven, Jupiter, also in her 10th. And she also has the transit North Node in Pisces approaching her Pisces Midheaven and Saturn currently right on her Midheaven, signaling that overall, 2025 will be a huge career year for her. I ended up being correct, as she won a Grammy for “Best Pop Album of the Year”!
Above, Sabrina Carpenter’s transits for the night of the Grammy’s.
I also looked at Kendrick Lamar’s chart after the fact, especially because he had a huge career week between the Grammy’s and the Super Bowl. He is currently in the midst of a Mars return in the 10th house of his chart, and the North Node in Pisces is approaching his natal Pisces moon. Transit Saturn is also currently right on top of his Pisces moon. The Pisces moon rules his Cancer Midheaven, that’s why this transit is extra important in terms of career. So, very similar activations going on in his chart and the chart of Sabrina Carpenter, with significant transits to the Midheaven, ruler of the Midheaven, and the 10th house at this time. Chappell Roan also has Libra rising like Kendrick Lamar, so she has this Mars retrograde transit also happening in her 10th house and moving across her Midheaven. So many chart similarities across the board with what celebrities are getting attention right now.
Kendrick Lamar’s transit chart for Super Bowl night is below:
Monday, February 3
I scheduled an early morning workout for Monday with the moon in Aries, squaring Mars in Cancer. When the moon connects with Mars or is in a Mars ruled sign (Aries or Scorpio), you typically have some pent up energy that you want to release. I did a hot yoga class, which I felt was a literal embodiment of the Aries moon.
As a side note, with this Mars retrograde happening in my 12th house, I’ve been putting so much more energy into exercise and eating well. Transits to your 12th and 6th house are huge for taking care of your mind, body and spirit. I’ve gone from being someone who worked out pretty irregularly to a person who wakes up and goes to workout classes in the morning. I first had to get over the limiting belief (another 12th house theme) that I have to look perfect before exiting the house each day. I never scheduled morning workouts in the past, because I was scared to go out into public without having taken a shower or put on makeup. I’ve been breaking down these barriers in my mind with Mars transiting my 12th, and it feels so freeing!
Tuesday, February 4
The Taurus moon was transiting the 10th house of my chart all day, and I had a call with my assistant, Peyton, about long term career projects and how we can start planning for them now. I also spent hours recording the “Pluto Transit Stories” episode for my podcast, so it was a slow, but very productive work day.
I also had scheduled a haircut for this Taurus moon transit, because the moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus and was on my Midheaven on Tuesday, so I considered it to be a good day for doing anything appearance related. I was also feeling called to shape up my look in the lead to this full moon in Leo, happening in my 1st house.
However, my hairdresser told me that since I’m trying to go a bit longer with my hair length, he just wanted to do a quick trim, not a full cut. So it didn’t really go as planned. It made me think about how maybe I’m not meant to do as significant of a haircut and overall appearance change until Mars retrograde ends and then reenters Leo, my 1st house, and also Venus retrograde ends, both happening in mid-April. First house transits are huge for thinking about how you present yourself and making changes to your hair or personal style. And then I try to avoid doing anything major that is beauty related during a Venus retrograde, because it’s likely that it won’t come out as well as you had hoped.

Wednesday, February 5
The moon was still in Taurus, my 10th house, but void of course on Wednesday. It was still productive, but in a slower way. I did another workout class, Pilates this time. The Taurus moon is always good for connecting with your body.
I have been reading this book that recently came out, called The Motherload by Sarah Hoover, which is all about her pregnancy with her first child and navigating the first year of being a mom. Unfortunately, I don’t even know the author’s birthday, let alone have a timed chart for her, but I have been trying to guess her rising sign by the timeline of events she’s given. I would say that she has either a Cancer or Virgo rising, mainly because she writes about 2017 and 2018 being such depressing, traumatic years in her life and for her relationship, and that was when the eclipses were in Leo and Aquarius, the 2nd and 8th houses of a Cancer rising’s chart, or the 6th and 12th houses of a Virgo rising’s chart. Both of these eclipse cycles are particularly challenging and deal a lot with mental health concerns. Both of these rising signs are also going through big career growth right now, like having a book being published.
Reading memoirs and watching documentaries of people when you do actually have a timed birth chart is a helpful way to learn transits too. I did this recently with Martha Stewart’s chart when I watched her documentary, and I’ve done it with children’s author, Judy Blume, when I watched her documentary, and also Emily Weiss of Glossier, when I read the book written about her. I didn’t have a timed chart for Emily, but was still able to gather insightful information just from knowing her birthday and where the planets are positioned.
Thursday, February 6
The moon moved into Gemini, my 11th house, on Thursday and started applying to a conjunction with transit Jupiter there too. Thursday was an emotional curveball. Recently, I had been very emotional about a friendship, sensing that there was tension between us. On Thursday afternoon, we both ended up opening up and explaining our emotions surrounding the difficulties we were having. It turned out it that it was a big miscommunication on both of our ends. So actually this transit played out so literally - the Gemini theme of communication tied in with the 11th house theme of friendship.
I also announced a lot of work stuff on Thursday, including a podcast episode and a Substack article. I try to make career related announcements or launch important work projects under 11th house moon transits, because it’s more likely that I will be gaining greater support and attention from my community during that couple day period. It’s important to keep in mind that 10th house transits are for putting in the hard work, and 11th house transits are for sharing that success and celebrating it with people.
In addition, I went for a long walk outside and that generated a lot of new ideas (Gemini moon theme of exploration and mental stimulation).

Friday, February 7
The moon remained in Gemini, still transiting my 11th house, so Friday continued to be about friends and prioritizing my commitments to other people. I met up with two good friends from college on Friday afternoon.
My friend, Christina, had her first child about six months ago, so I love catching up with her and seeing how much her baby has grown. I always end up seeing Christina under Gemini and Sagittarius transits, because our composite chart has a Gemini rising with a Sagittarius stellium in the 7th house. See the chart below for a visual. For those who don’t know, a composite chart finds the midpoint between two different birth charts and creates an entirely new chart based off of that. Looking up the composite chart between you and a friend, business partner, or romantic partner and noting the current transits to it is a great way to track when that relationship will go through ups and downs. I always find more is happening in a relationship with transits to the 1st, 7th, or 10th houses of the composite chart, or when the composite sun is aspected by a big transit, like the Nodes, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto. For instance, last year I didn’t see Christina a lot because Jupiter was in Taurus, the 12th house of our composite chart, but when Jupiter moved into Gemini back in May 2024, our 1st house, the fact that she had a baby shortly after has made us much closer. I ended up visiting her in the hospital right after she gave birth when the moon, Mars, and Jupiter were all transiting through Gemini, our composite 1st house. You can pull up a composite chart with you and a partner or a friend here.
Saturday, February 8
By Saturday, the moon had moved into Cancer, my 12th house, so I allowed myself to rest and sleep in later than usual. However, I still found time to meet up with my friend Maggie in the afternoon. We were walking through Brooklyn Heights, trading stories about what we’ve experienced with the ongoing Mars retrograde, when we happened upon a lending library on the sidewalk. And inside was a book on Mars! I love when little synchronicities like this occur.
On Saturday night, I attended an engagement party for my brother-in-law and his fiancé, who are getting married in October. Attending a family event was very Cancer moon coded. I also reflected on the transits to both of their charts, thinking about why they’re getting married in the second half of this year.
She has a Scorpio rising, with a Virgo sun in the 11th house and a Cancer moon in the 9th house. Transits to her chart on the day of their wedding are below.
The Pisces/Virgo eclipses are happening across her 5th and 11th houses, which is a big transit for experiencing changes in your love life. And the eclipses are also activating her Sun in Virgo, which rules her Leo 10th house. So a shift in 10th house themes is taking place for her too - her status in the world is going from being single to married. I also had major 10th house transits (Sun + Jupiter + Uranus conjunction in the 10th) when I got legally married. (Note how transits for a legal marriage might be different from when you actually have the wedding celebration.) Plus, her 7th house ruler, Venus, is also in Virgo getting hit by these Virgo/Pisces eclipses and also transit Saturn too. And Jupiter will be transiting through Cancer, the same sign as her natal Cancer moon. There are so many important chart activations happening for her in 2025, so it makes sense a major event in her personal life is taking place this year.
As for my brother-in-law, he’s a Leo rising with a Libra sun in the 3rd house and a Gemini moon in the 11th. So he has eclipses across his 2nd and 8th houses this year. 8th house transits, specifically transit Jupiter, Saturn, or the Nodes there, are very common when getting married, because marriage usually is about combining finances and also spending a lot of money on a wedding, new stuff for your home together, etc.
Wore my favorite LBD from Ciao Lucia to the engagement party:
Sunday, February 9
By Sunday, I was feeling pretty run down from all of the social activities, which made sense, because the moon was still in Cancer, my 12th house, but also conjunct Mars retrograde there. However, I continued to power through! I usually don’t have this many social activities back to back, but this weekend there was a Sun-Mercury cazimi in Aquarius, my 7th house. When the Sun and Mercury meet at the same degree, which only happens every couple of months, it’s usually a couple day period of extra socializing and communication based activity. So I added some new information to my astrological database - the energy of a Sun-Mercury cazimi in a social sign like Aquarius will overpower the transit of the moon in a more introverted, emotional sign like Cancer. Tracking transits in this way helps me to understand how much importance I need to place on each one.
I ended the weekend by meeting up with my friends and my sister to do an art class at Happy Medium in Greenpoint. I experimented with watercolors, painting an Italian street scene. Playing around with creativity is also very tied in with the full moon in Leo that is quickly approaching.
Alice this is so interesting and helpful! You should seriously publish a book with all of these transit diaries once you have enough evidence for how the transits show up for you in real life. I would read and use it daily!
Really enjoyed this diary format! I try to remember what is happening during the week from your podcast but never thought to apply it to a diary, inspired ✨to reflect on paper.
