We will be getting back to work and staying organized this Virgo season. After the chaos of Mercury retrograde, and the burnout or anxiety you may have faced with the Mars and Jupiter squares to Saturn these past couple of weeks, the majority of Virgo season will be about making changes or restructuring certain areas of your life. We will also get the first of two eclipses happening this fall, and the first Pisces eclipse we’ve had since 2017, so change is in the air over the next month! First, let’s go over all of the most significant transits taking place this Virgo season before I go over what all of them mean for each rising sign.

The main underlying theme for the next four weeks is that the Sun is moving through the sign of Virgo from August 22 - September 22. During this time, you may be more focused on work, your daily routine, and your physical health. You may be coming up with ways to boost your productivity, or you could be considering what type of work you want to be putting energy into moving forward. You may have more motivation to develop new job projects, or you could be sticking to a structured schedule. In addition, you might have a desire to exercise, eat healthy, or take overall better care of your body. And if you have spent the past few weeks during Mercury retrograde already reflecting on these themes, expect to now have greater clarity there and be taking action as we head into September.

On August 28, Mercury retrograde will finally end at 21 degrees of Leo. This retrograde started back on August 5, so notice how in the days following the 28th, there begins to be greater momentum happening in your life. You will be moving forward again with new projects, opportunities, or relationships, and you may notice things starting to come together a lot more easily. Also, if Leo related topics like your identity, creativity, or how you express yourself were a point of confusion for you recently, you may now have a better grasp on what hobbies or outlets for self expression you need to lean into.

A day later, Venus moves into Libra on August 29, where it will remain for the rest of Virgo season. This is a great place for Venus to be, because this is one of the two signs that Venus rules. So areas like finances, relationships, and creativity may be running more smoothly. You may be considering the friendships and romantic relationships in your life, and you may want to further commit to someone or make an effort to compromise and work as one half of a partnership. You will be mindful of the balance in your relationships too, and you will want to make sure everyone is being treated equally. A key date within this Venus transit will be from September 14-15, when Venus, the Moon and Jupiter all trine each other from air signs. This could be an especially pleasant day for socializing, going on a date, or tending to creative work.

Backing up a bit, the next major transit for the month will be Mars in Gemini squaring Neptune in Pisces throughout the first few days of September, from the 1st to the 4th. This may have you feeling low energy for a few days, or you could be uncertain about a situation that you’re facing. Sometimes this transit can even indicate illness, so make sure you’re not putting so much pressure on yourself around this time. Taking time to rest will be so key, especially in the lead up to the new moon, which brings me to my next point.

The first lunation of the month will be the new moon in Virgo on September 2, and it will be taking place at 11 degrees of this sign. This will help to kickstart new opportunities for you, and you may feel more certain about what type of routine you want to adopt or how you can move forward differently at work. If you are thinking about launching a project or making a major decision, try to wait until this new moon occurs. The new moon will be in opposition with Saturn, and then the Sun will continue to oppose Saturn until September 8. So there may also be a heaviness that comes up at this time, or you’re definitely feeling like vacation time is over, and you’re ready to get back to work and responsibilities.

There are so many planets changing signs this month! On September 4, Mars moves into Cancer until November 3. This may have you directing more energy towards home and family related activities, or you could be making decisions and pursuing new opportunities based on your emotions and gut instincts. Mars in Cancer very much needs the moment to feel right in order to act, so if you aren’t getting that feeling about something you might be better off waiting. Cancer is also the sign that Mars will return to in January 2025, when it is retrograde, so the themes that start coming up with this transit this month will become part of a bigger story that continues to unfold throughout the beginning of next year. A key date to watch with this Mars transit is September 16, when Mars squares the North and South Nodes. It may bring up themes related to that bigger, 2 year long eclipse cycle through Aries and Libra, and you could see further developments happen in the houses ruled by those two signs in your chart.

On September 9, Mercury returns to Virgo, the sign it started its retrograde in at the beginning of August. So any problems that were plaguing you around that time may feel fully resolved by this early September date. Any work related to writing, editing, speaking, or keeping track of detailed information will be easier to accomplish too. A key date to take note of during this Mercury transit is September 20, when Mercury will square Jupiter in Gemini. You may feel especially inspired by ideas, and you could have creative breakthroughs in the areas of writing or speaking. Travel could be good at that time too.

We then close out Virgo season with a lunar eclipse! We have a lunar eclipse in Pisces happening on September 17. This is super significant, because it’s the first of two eclipses we will have this fall, and it is also the first Pisces eclipse we’ve had since 2017. We are phasing out of the Aries/Libra eclipses that have been ongoing since the spring of 2023 and will fully wrap up in March of 2025, and now kicking off a new eclipse cycle across Pisces and Virgo that will not end until early 2027. This eclipse is taking place at 25 degrees of Pisces, and will be in close alignment with Neptune in Pisces. Therefore, you may feel especially sensitive around this time, or you could be strengthening your intuition or a spiritual practice. In addition, you might be searching for deeper meaning in your life or your work, or you could be finding a hobby that allows you to enter a state of flow, and tap into your own fantasy world. This eclipse will also bring change to the Pisces ruled house of your chart, an area of your life that has likely felt slowed down or frustrating since Saturn has been there for the past year and a half.

Let’s now go over what all of this means for your rising sign…
