Welcome to Astrology with Alice
My monthly astrology newsletter is back and better than ever, plus what does Pluto moving into Aquarius mean for the world at large?
Hello and happy Aries season!
After a seven month hiatus, I am excited to announce that my monthly newsletter is back, and I’m making it a way bigger priority. I had to put all other work on pause this past fall/winter in order to write my book, but the final manuscript is now off to the printers, so it’s time to pick back up where we left off.
You may have noticed that the format of this newsletter looks a bit different. I have switched over to Substack, because it’s a lot better for long form writing. I’m pivoting a bit too, and instead of giving a monthly rundown of astrological events, I will be going in depth on just one particular astrology topic. This month we will be looking at Pluto moving into Aquarius on March 23, and what that means for the world at large (found in the last part of this email). In addition, I will be giving my latest book and podcast recommendations, as well any other announcements about my current offerings.
I’m also happy to reveal that there is a paid subscriber option for this newsletter that you can sign up for. For $10 a month / $100 a year, you will receive a separate newsletter, called Your Monthly Forecast that will always come out the day after this one. For those of you who have been following me since 2018 or 2019, you may remember that I used to offer written transit readings that were like 2-3 pages long. That is essentially what the paid newsletter will be: about 1500 words written per rising sign, going over what you can expect based on what planets are transiting through specific houses in your chart each month. For example, in the newsletter I’m sending out tomorrow, I will be discussing these events for each rising sign: the new moon in Aries, the full moon in Libra, Saturn in Pisces, Pluto in Aquarius, Mercury moving through Aries and then Taurus, Venus in Taurus then Gemini, Mars moving into Cancer, and the solar eclipse in Aries at the very end of the season. I want you to be able to understand how all of these moving parts fit together for you.
Why is this forecast written for the rising sign you may ask? Because using whole sign houses, the rising sign makes up the entire first house of your birth chart, so it shows how all the other signs and houses fall around the rest of your chart. If you’re an Aries rising for example, your 2nd house is Taurus, the 3rd is Gemini, 4th is Cancer, and so on. Depending on where the planets currently are in the sky will determine what houses are being activated for you at certain times. Reading the forecast for your rising is literally the same as me looking at your birth chart and telling you what I would expect to happen for you over the next month, or in the case of the Saturn and Pluto transits, the next few years.
In addition, you will have access to a monthly discussion thread where I give a topic like “Best transits for career growth?” or “What’s it like to have Saturn transit over your sun or moon?” Paid subscribers can write their personal experiences in the comments and connect with other people there.
If you sign up now, you will receive the first edition of Your Monthly Forecast tomorrow at 2pm EST. Both of these newsletters, free and subscriber, will always come out right at the start of each new zodiac season, one after the other. I also have some exciting ideas for additional content you will receive as a paid subscriber in the future, so stay tuned for those. If you have any questions about the membership, feel free to reach out.
My Offerings
I launched a solar return workshop last month that went so well, and it is available for purchase on my website here. For those of you who don’t know, a solar return chart is a form of predictive astrology, and tells you what parts of your life will be emphasized over a 12 month period (from birthday to birthday). If you’re wanting to know the overall vibe for a specific year and how certain transits will manifest for you, you check your solar return. I have loved receiving messages from people who have taken the workshop, saying how they’ve now been doing their past solar return charts, as well as the charts of all their friends. It’s so empowering to be able to do these prediction techniques on your own, instead of having me just tell you what’s going on.
Readings: I’m going to send out a separate email about this soon. I’m still figuring out how to best structure my offerings (hello Saturn transiting my 8th house) So stay tuned on that one, and thank you for your continued patience!
Monthly Recommendations
Books I’ve recently loved:
My favorite fiction of the year so far has been Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. It’s the story of two college kids, a boy and girl, in the 1990s who create a video game together that proves to be wildly successful. The rest of the book is about how their friendship evolves over the next two decades as they run a company together. It’s basically a love story about a platonic friendship. I’m not really interested in video games personally, but this book was still so so good. Can’t recommend it enough.
My favorite nonfiction book this year has been Let’s Get Physical by Danielle Friedman. It is a history of women’s exercise throughout the 20th century, with personal stories written about a couple of different women from each decade and how they helped to shape a specific form of working out. My favorite part of the book by far was the 1980s and Jane Fonda’s aerobic videos.
Podcast episodes I’ve enjoyed:
EXPANDED Podcast: “How to Find Your Voice & Be Seen”
I love the Expanded podcast and the whole To Be Magnetic program for manifestation. This podcast episode was all about how sometimes when you’re not reaching that next level of success, it’s usually because you’re still afraid of being seen in some way. This episode gives helpful tips on how to break free from the ways in which you might be subconsciously keeping yourself small.
The Astrology Podcast: “Fate and Astrology”
What is fate vs what is free will in astrology is a question I often find myself reflecting on. It’s comforting to think of everything in life as being fated to happen a certain way, that you were always meant to encounter certain situations and circumstances at a specific time, with the astrology reflecting that. Other times, it’s helpful to believe that you have free will with astrological transits, because it gives you the power to decide how a certain type of energy is going to go. It was enlightening to listen to Chris’s personal perspective on this topic.
Pluto in Aquarius
Okay now to the main event. Today, we’re going in depth on Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto is moving into Aquarius on March 23, and this is arguably the biggest astrological event that will happen this decade. Pluto has not changed signs since it entered Capricorn in 2008. Considering that it will be in Aquarius until 2043, this is a whole new 20 year period we’re entering into.
Because Pluto transits last so long, they tend to very telling of generational trends. You can actually go back in time and divide up generations based on what sign people’s Pluto is in. Baby Boomers mostly have Pluto in Leo, with the youngest having Pluto in Virgo, likewise the oldest Gen-Xers have Pluto in Virgo, while the younger ones have Pluto in Libra, Millennials have Pluto in Scorpio, Gen-Z has Pluto in Sagittarius, Generation Alpha has Pluto in Capricorn, and those who will make up Generation Beta have not been born yet, but will be marked by having Pluto in Aquarius. It will be so interesting to see how kids born under this Pluto in Aquarius transit will grow up in 25-30 years time to be a generation of super innovative leaders who want to change the world.
On a recent episode of The Astrology Podcast, the hosts made a great point about how whatever sign Pluto is transiting is where fear is arising in the world at large. Because of Pluto, the darker themes of that sign tend to show up in major world events and current trends. Looking back in history, Pluto in Scorpio (1982 - 1995) saw the AIDS epidemic, making a lot of people fearful of sex and getting too close to people (Scorpio rules the genitals and is a sign pertaining to physical intimacy and sexuality) Pluto in Sagittarius (1995 - 2008) marked a period where there was a fear of foreign cultures and travel due to terrorist attacks, with 9/11 taking place during this time. (Sagittarius is the sign associated with foreign cultures and travel.) Pluto in Capricorn (2008 - 2024) has mainly been about fearing government and financial structures and people in power positions. Capricorn is a sign associated with power, status and tradition, and we’ve uncovered how corrupt some of these older systems actually are over the last several years.
To get a better idea about what Pluto moving into Aquarius will mean for the world at large, let’s first get clear on the characteristics associated with both the planet Pluto and the sign of Aquarius.
Pluto is a planet that indicates:
Shadow side
What’s buried or repressed
Deep transformation
Process of death and rebirth (figurative and literal)
Themes of control or power struggles
Obsessive, likes to fixate on things
Aquarius is a sign that:
Challenges the status quo
Wants everyone to be treated equally
Hates being controlled or told what to do
Wants to abolish hierarchies, doesn’t like when one person is in power
Is big on technology, the future, and making innovative changes
Wants independence, a need to be your own person
Therefore, we can make an educated guess that Pluto in Aquarius will likely have to do with both innovations and possible fear surrounding technology. The Internet has now been around for a full Saturn cycle (its first Saturn return was during Saturn in Aquarius), but we have yet to see any real rules or regulations about what content is put out. There may be bans that come into place with social media, or what is on the internet might be more closely monitored. In addition, there might be power struggles about who is in charge of certain social media platforms. We’ve seen this already happening with Twitter, and now there is talk of either banning or selling TikTok in the U.S. I also feel like there’s about to be a rejection of being totally dependent on technology and living life online, because people are so sick of it and want more real life connections. For example, dating app fatigue is very real right now. On the flip side of that, there will also be signifiant innovations happening in the tech sphere, with artificial intelligence and that new chatGPT thing being the most obvious examples at the moment.
Aside from the internet and social media, a theme of everyone wanting to be treated equally will likely come up. People may not want to listen to those who are in charge anymore, and there may be a massive reworking in society that takes place so that power is more evenly distributed. Everyone will want to have a say in what laws are created, so changes to who is in power in various countries may be an issue that is addressed over the next twenty years.
It’s so common to fixate on the negative aspects of a specific transit though, without noting any of the positive ones. Like any other transit, Pluto in Aquarius will definitely not be all bad or “scary.” One positive manifestation might be that bigger scientific innovations come about that help cure major health problems. It may also be that more people end up embracing their individuality in a bigger way, speaking out about their unique stories. Though no one alive right now has lived through Pluto in Aquarius before, looking back at recent transits through Aquarius, we saw a vaccination for Covid created under the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in Aquarius in 2020. Meanwhile, Neptune in Aquarius (1998 - 2012) saw technological innovations made in music, with EDM and other techno, dance type music rising in popularity, and during Uranus in Aquarius (1995 - 2003), it became commonplace for people to connect online through places like MySpace and AIM. With Pluto in Aquarius, there will definitely be a greater emphasis on how we can better relate to one another and reach bigger communities of people more effectively.
Also, if we were to reflect on what happened during the last time Pluto was in Aquarius from 1778 - 1798, the most notable events that relate to both Pluto and Aquarian type themes are:
The Revolutionary War and The French Revolution: independence and having equal rights is a huge Aquarian theme that was present in both of these wars.
In the lead up to this Pluto transit, Adam Smith published The Wealth of Nations in 1776, which was all about limiting how much the government should be involved in the economy (very Aquarian theme of independence) and in the years that followed during Pluto actually being in Aquarius, global trading grew exponentially (Aquarian theme of reaching a bigger community)
That entire Pluto transit fell within the time frame of the Industrial Revolution in Britain (Aquarian technological innovation theme)
Huge progress was made with gas lighting - the foundation for it being used in individual homes as well as by big companies was established during that time period (another Aquarian technological innovation theme)
the planet Uranus was discovered in 1781, and has come to be known as the planet that represents science, technology, and innovation
One final point I want to make is that because this transit is lasting for 20 years, there will be certain years when the effects of Pluto are felt more intensely For example, when Saturn moves into Taurus (2028 - 2030) and later Leo (2035 - 2037), making an aspect to Pluto from those signs, those will probably be the most challenging years of Pluto in Aquarius. I also predict technological innovations will speed up exponentially when Uranus enters Gemini in 2025 for 8 years, exactly trining Pluto from that sign. If you want to read what Pluto in Aquarius will mean for you individually, I go in depth on what this transit means for your chart in Your Monthly Forecast, which will be sent out tomorrow.
Astronomical event on September 23, 2017 called the Revelation 12 Sign believed to fulfill end times Bible prophecy, even word-for-word. "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered." Revelation 12:1-2. How to be prepared and have hope about the future.
