Why Timing is So Important in Relationships
Tracking transits to synastry, composite, and your own charts!
A friend of mine recently called off her wedding. Over dinner, after explaining to us what went wrong in the relationship and why she came to that decision, she turned to me and asked, “Did you see this happening in my chart, are we not compatible?” Having both of their charts memorized in my head, I did some quick transit calculations and answered, “It’s not that you guys weren’t compatible, it’s that the timing of your lives was different. You were headed in two separate directions.”
One thing a lot of people get wrong with astrology is that having “compatible” signs with someone matters. It matters to an extent, but I believe that you’re naturally drawn to people who have compatible astrology to your own, it’s not something you need to seek out or spend time worrying about. What I find to be much more important, and why I dedicated an entire section of my book to this topic, is that the timing of both people adds up. When a relationship, business partnership, or friendship works, it’s because you and the other person naturally have chart placements that share similar themes getting activated at the same time.
In order to understand when timing to a relationship happens, you can track transits to your own chart, as well as to your synastry and composite charts with someone, which is what we’ll be looking at today. In doing so, you can better understand why certain people come into your life at specific points, and how there may be years or months when you feel super close to someone, while there may be other moments where you feel a bit distant from a friend or maybe it’s just hard to get on the same page as your partner for a period of time.
In my book, Trust Your Timing, I went over transits for getting into a relationship and having greater dating activity, and also transits that can indicate relationship stress and navigating challenging moments with your partner. This newsletter will build upon that information and take it one step further, so if you want a more solid foundation on the basics for relationship transits or reading synastry charts, I would start with my book then keep reading ahead. Below, here are some key areas that you will want to take note of when tracking important developments to a relationship in your life.
