Your Monthly Forecast #2
Taurus season, Mercury retrograde in Taurus, lunar eclipse in Scorpio, Venus into Cancer, Jupiter into Taurus, new moon in Taurus and Mars into Leo
Your personal forecast for this month is finally here! I’ve been so happy to hear from people about how much the last one resonated. This month we are covering all of the transits that will be happening throughout Taurus season, from April 20 - May 20. First I’m breaking down what these transits mean in general, and then paid subscribers can keep reading to see what these transits mean for their individual chart. Think of this as your monthly mini reading that you can refer back to over the course of the next several weeks. And because it’s now Taurus season, I’ve moved the Taurus rising forecast to the top, so Aries rising you will be scrolling to the end this time. In addition to Aries rising people, if you have your rising sign in the last half of the signs, you may have to click on where it says “view entire message” in blue at the bottom left of the email to expand it in order to see yours, or you can log on to the Substack website or app to read it in full more easily.
Before we get into what’s to come, I do want to reiterate that yesterday’s solar eclipse in Aries was major, and the themes based on where it fell in your chart will continue to play out over the next several months. So if you need a refresher on what that solar eclipse in Aries meant for you personally, refer back to last month’s monthly forecast newsletter.
There is a ton of action taking place in Taurus this month, so let’s cover all of that first. As of yesterday (April 20), Taurus season has officially begun. Taurus season asks you to slow down a bit, get grounded, and enjoy simple pleasures like cooking, going for walks, or getting involved in creative hobbies like arts and crafts. Taurus is also a sign associated with finances, so you may find yourself spending more than usual and wanting to treat yourself. As the sun moves through Taurus for the next several weeks, it will make two notable conjunctions. On April 24, the sun meets up with the North Node at 4 degrees of Taurus. Then on May 9, it conjoins Uranus in Taurus. The North Node and Uranus have both been moving through Taurus for a while now, so the sun meeting up with them reactivates their potential of promoting change and personal growth in the Taurus ruled house of your chart. Major developments might take place that have to do with the themes of that Taurus ruled house for you around April 24 and May 9, so keep that in mind.
There will not be a new moon in Taurus until the very last day of Taurus season on May 19. So if you’re not entirely seeing developments happen in the Taurus ruled house right now, you can expect more momentum or concrete action to take place closer to that new moon several weeks from now. In addition to the Taurus new moon, Jupiter is also moving into Taurus on May 16, and it will remain in this sign until May 25, 2024. Jupiter has been in Aries for most of the last year since May 2022. Now that it is switching to a new sign, you will notice greater growth and opportunities in that Taurus ruled house. However, you may feel overwhelmed in this area as well.
To backtrack a bit, we have a Mercury retrograde in Taurus starting today (yikes!) and lasting until May 14. Like a lot of people, I’m not a huge fan of Mercury retrograde. This is mainly because I don’t have a lot of patience, and I’m always craving that next experience or new plan to look forward to. However, I will say that these Mercury retrograde periods are actually necessary, because they pretty much force you to slow down and reevaluate where you want to be headed. If there have been any emotions you’ve been sweeping under the rug, conversations you’ve been avoiding, or interests you haven’t had the time to fully pursue, Mercury retrograde will bring all of this to your attention. Use this time to reflect on what you truly want, reconnect with people from the past, revisit activities that bring you joy, or restructure how you go about a certain part of your life. You may become particularly focused on projects related to writing, speaking, or storytelling as well. Because this retrograde is happening in the sign of Taurus, you could experience confusion or setbacks at work, or you may be reflecting on what is worth working towards. You’re also figuring out what you value and how you want to make money.
The next major event this month is the May 5 lunar eclipse in Scorpio. In the newsletter I sent out yesterday (hyperlink), we learned that a lunar eclipse is often a culmination of activity, where you’re seeing results of whatever you’ve been working on, or you’re making powerful realizations about what you want to change or release in your life. This is not always that easy, and you may feel a little unsettled, or changes you didn’t anticipate might be happening. With this eclipse in the sign of Scorpio, you may be more introspective as you consider patterns and behaviors that are holding you back. You may even feel urged to cut out anything or anyone that isn’t adding real value to your life.
Two days later on May 7, Venus leaves Gemini and moves into Cancer. Mars has already been in Cancer since the end of March, so this will just amplify those themes being brought up in the Cancer ruled house for you. Venus in Cancer may make you want to spend more time with loved ones, or you could want to decorate your living space to make it feel like home. When dating, you could be more sensitive, and you may be craving a deeper, emotional connection with someone rather than a casual fling.
Finally, on May 20, Mars moves into Leo, ending its 8 week long stay in Cancer. I’ve recently been getting feedback that Mars in Cancer has people feeling super sleepy and emotional. I thought it was just me, because Mars in Cancer means it’s transiting my 12th house, but I guess it’s just a Cancer thing in general! As it moves into Leo for the next couple months, you could feel more creatively inspired, or you’re finding various outlets for self expression. I will go into this transit more next month, since it really sets the stage for Gemini season. However, what is important to note right now is that when Mars moves to 0 degrees of Leo, it will exactly square Jupiter in Taurus and oppose Pluto in Aquarius. So that may be the first taste of you feeling like “whoa, this is what Pluto in Aquarius is about for me.” Longer transits like Pluto need shorter ones like Mars and Jupiter to awaken their full potential. Okay, now let’s get into what all of these transits mean for you individually…
