Aquarius Season Monthly Forecast
So many Aquarius transits this month! Sun in Aquarius, Pluto in Aquarius, full moon in Leo, Venus into Capricorn then Aquarius, Mars and Mercury into Aquarius, and new moon in Aquarius!
It is officially Aquarius season. Happy birthday to all of my fellow Aquarians - mine is on January 25th on the full moon in Leo this year! This newsletter also recently reached 10,000 subscribers, so I want to thank everyone who supports my writing, especially my paid subscribers. You allow me to do what I love most for a living, which is teaching astrology through writing. Like usual, I will first be going over the key transits that are taking place over the next month before getting into what all of this means for your individual rising sign.
Coming off of the heavy responsibilities of Capricorn season, you may begin to feel much more social and community oriented for the next few weeks. The main underlying transit taking place is that the sun is moving through Aquarius, starting on January 20 and lasting until February 19. Overarching themes that will likely come up this month will be about embracing the qualities that set you apart or wanting to find a group of like minded people that share your same beliefs or aspirations. You may be way more focused on the distant future, as you reflect on your bigger hopes and dreams and what you want to be working towards. Keep in mind that Aquarius, like Capricorn, is ruled by Saturn, so there is still the energy of seriously considering who and what is worth committing to in the long term.
On the same day that Aquarius season begins, January 20, Pluto moves into Aquarius. We got a sneak preview of this from March until June of 2023, but Pluto will be remaining in Aquarius for a longer period of time this year, from January 20 until September 1, and then will reenter Aquarius in late November and will remain there until 2043. This will be a defining transit of the next two decades. If you want to read more about what general themes for the world at large will likely come up over the next two decades, I discussed that in this newsletter from last March.
On January 23, Venus departs Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn until the middle of February. You could find yourself scaling back on what type of social activities or romantic plans you agree to during this time, and you could only want to entertain dating someone if you see it going somewhere in the long term. You could also be taking commitments to your friends more seriously. In addition, Venus rules finances, so you may be trying to save money, or you’re putting careful thought into your purchases. Venus will be joining Mercury and Mars in Capricorn, so throughout the end of January and into early February, there will still be quite a bit of energy directed towards the Capricorn ruled house of your chart. Even though Capricorn season may be over, you will continue to see activity come up there.
An interesting couple of transits take place right around January 27 and 28. Mercury and Mars will be meeting up at the same degree of Capricorn for that couple day period, and at the same time Venus in Capricorn will be trining Jupiter in Taurus. On top of that, the moon will be moving through Virgo, trining Venus, Mercury and Mars in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus. So the earth sign trio of houses in your chart will get this nice productive, flowing energy around that couple day period, and you could see greater action take place there.
To backtrack a bit though, on January 25 there will be a full moon in Leo, taking place at 5 degrees of this sign. So if you have any fixed sign planets or angles (Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus) right around this 5 degree mark, you will likely feel the effects of the full moon the most. For everyone though, you may realize how you can be more playful, creative, or expressive in the house of your chart ruled by Leo. In addition, the full moon will be squaring transit Jupiter, which is at 6 degrees of Taurus. Therefore, this full moon may trigger that longer transit of Jupiter for you too, bringing greater activity and realizations to the Taurus ruled house of your chart.
As we head into February, there is a notable shift from Capricorn energy to Aquarius energy. The next significant transit to take place will be when Mercury moves out of Capricorn into Aquarius on February 5, immediately applying to a conjunction with Pluto there. You may find that you’re met with new, innovative ideas at this time, or you could be intensely focused on research and going deeper to find out everything there is to know about a topic of interest. You could have obsessive thoughts though and be fixating on things you can’t control, so that’s also something to be aware of.
February 9 will bring a new moon in Aquarius, and a fresh start to the Aquarius ruled house of your chart. So if you haven’t fully seen opportunities form there, you will see greater momentum building in the days that follow this new moon. The new moon will be happening at 20 degrees of Aquarius, so anyone with fixed sign placements right around that degree marker will notice the impact of this new moon the most. For example, I have Saturn at 19 degrees of Aquarius in my birth chart, so this new moon will also carry that Saturnian energy for me.
Mars will also move into Aquarius on February 13, followed by Venus on February 16. Both of these planets will immediately conjunct Pluto upon entering this sign. So that mid-February time frame from around February 13-17 will be especially intense with Pluto type energy. You could notice themes of control coming up in relationships or at work, or you may have a determination to accomplish whatever you set out to do at this time. You may also be uncovering repressed anger or transforming certain aspects of your own behavior through relationship experiences you’re having. This may be something as simple as someone not responding to you the way you would like over text, and then that encounter triggers you to look at why you’re getting so upset over it in the first place.
Those are all of the key transits for Aquarius season! Keep reading to find out what all of the above means for your individual rising sign….
