Incorporating Astrology into My Daily Routine + The Jupiter-Uranus Conjunction
How to track everyday transits, and a deep dive into what the upcoming Jupiter-Uranus alignment could bring
I hope everyone is doing okay with these eclipses! For me personally, they’ve been much easier and more optimistic than the eclipses were in the fall, probably because Mars isn’t configured so closely to the nodes this time. Aside from the eclipses though, there is another huge transit coming up this spring, which is the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus.
Initially, I was going to make this newsletter just about Jupiter and Uranus, but then I decided to add a personal spin to it too. So first, I’m sharing little anecdotes about how I use astrology as a guide throughout the week, because there’s a big difference between letting astrology control every single decision you make, versus letting it guide you as to where it might be helpful to put your energy. Tracking transits everyday has also helped me with accepting the present moment, and letting go of control over how I think my day or weeks should look like.
Let’s go over how you can check where the planets currently are every day. To view transits, I always use astro-seek.com
When you click that link, it will show up where the planets are right this minute, no matter if you’re reading this newsletter on the day I send it out or in a week from now. If you’re reading it on the day this email hits your inbox, you’ll see how the sun is in Aries, because it is now Aries season. You will also see how Mercury has a small “R” symbol next to it, because it’s currently retrograde. You will want to take note of what sign the moon is in too. If you advance the transits forwards and backwards in time, you’ll see how the moon moves quickly through the signs, only spending 2.5 days in each one.
When I’m checking the astrology for how I might feel on a daily basis, I’m primarily looking at the moon. For anyone who is a listener of my podcast, you are definitely familiar with how the moon's transit really shapes any given week. I recently did a whole newsletter on how to work with the various lunar phases throughout the month to maximize productivity too. Aside from the lunar phases, I like to see what sign the moon is transiting through every day. Knowing what sign the moon is in will tell you where your main focus will lie for a 2-3 day period. I also note what aspects the moon is making to other planets. For example, the moon will be in Pisces for a 2.5 day period every single month. On one of those days, the moon will conjunct Saturn in Pisces, and the following day it will conjunct Neptune in Pisces. Saturn and Neptune have very different energies, so even though the moon is still in Pisces on both of those days, you will feel quite differently between one day and the next.
In addition to the moon, I also keep in mind other significant transits as they’re approaching. For instance, I know that there’s a Mars - Saturn conjunction coming up next week, right around April 10, so I am anticipating that I will be working extremely hard at that time. I haven’t wanted to commit to anything new that will align with that date, because I know that I will already be feeling very overwhelmed with work.
Once you’ve identified what relevant transits are happening on a single day or throughout an entire week, you can then overlay those transits to the houses of your chart. You can do this through astro-seek too. Going back to the example of the Mars-Saturn conjunction happening in Pisces next week - if I overlay that transit to my own birth chart, I can see that it is happening in my 8th house (see diagram below). Therefore, the themes of the 8th house are unique to me in how I’m experiencing this conjunction. I have known for months that I’m going to be spending a ton of money (8th house theme) when this conjunction goes exact, both on taxes and wedding related stuff, so I’ve been mentally preparing for it.
Referring to the same diagram above, the moon is moving through Capricorn as I’m writing this. With Capricorn ruling my 6th house, it makes sense that I’m very much leaning into 6th house themes right now, such as completing tasks at work and getting organized. The 6th house realm of work is where the Capricorn energy of being more focused, committed, and ambitious is coming through for me today specifically.
You’re not always experiencing major life defining events, and the small little activities that make up your day to day schedule actually have a strong astrological correlation. As a regular practice, start to notice the little events that happen throughout your day and identify what patterns you’re seeing with the planetary transits.
Jupiter + Uranus
Moving on to the big event taking place later this month. On April 19, we have a unique planetary alignment happening, as Jupiter and Uranus meet up at 21 degrees of Taurus. This conjunction only happens once every 14 years - the last time it took place was in 2010 in the sign of Pisces. Historically, this conjunction has brought with it periods of creative experimentation and scientific breakthroughs. For example, landing on the moon happened during a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in 1969. To get a better idea of what this transit may bring, we first want to review what each planet represents.
Jupiter is a planet that:
magnifies and amplifies
Makes things larger than life
Injects a boost of positivity and optimism
Is about expansion and seeking greater freedom
Uranus is a planet that is all about:
innovation
Rapid, often unexpected change
Technological advancements
Going against the status quo
When you put these two planets together, you can expect positive, innovative changes happening on a global scale. Over the coming months, expect to see new experimentation in the arts, fashion, film, or music. During the last Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in 2010 Instagram was created, which changed the whole social media game. Because this conjunction happened in the sign of Pisces, it’s very fitting that an app was introduced that is all about how what you see isn’t completely reality. Instagram embodies the very Pisces like theme of fantasy and an idealized life.
Pisces is also a very spiritual, intuitive sign, so it’s not surprising that a renewed interest in spirituality came up as we progressed further in that same Jupiter-Uranus cycle. However, it took until about 2017 for there to be a big wave of people talking about things like astrology, tarot, etc. 2017 was when Jupiter and Uranus were in an opposition, so it was like the “full moon” phase of that Jupiter-Uranus cycle, with the “new moon” phase having taken place at the conjunction in 2010.
Considering that we are now at the next “new moon” phase of these two planets as they come up on a conjunction, keep in mind that it might take until 2031, when Jupiter opposes Uranus again, that we fully realize a lot of the themes I get into below. With this year’s Jupiter-Uranus conjunction taking place in Taurus, we need to consider Taurus themes specifically: the earth, food, home, and finances. With these areas in mind, let’s brainstorm what we might expect to happen in the coming months and years.
There could very likely be innovations happening in the food industry, such as the creation of new types of foods using technology. There may also be changes in farming or how people receive their groceries or food in general. This conjunction could also signal a shift in money and how we pay for things. In the coming years, there may be more of a movement towards electronic currency, with Bitcoin leading the way on that one. On the other hand, it could be something we haven’t yet come up with, but which involves the theme of technology and finances. In addition, new types of housing and architecture could start to pop up as early as later this year. This may be housing that helps the environment in some way or that is more cost efficient. It could be that there’s growth in the creation of new homes too. I recently read an article that the number of rental apartments in New York is at an all time low, so action could finally be taken to resolve situations like this. Climate change is another big topic that I associate with the sign of Taurus, so over the next several years positive changes might be made to fight global warming, and in general we could be made more aware of how our actions affect the environment. Technological advancements that help with the issue of climate change could arise too.
Again, it’s important to note that these creative and technological innovations that start to go into effect under the April 19 Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus may not be fully realized or become public for a few months or even several years. When these types of changes do become more public, it’s likely that their origin can be pinpointed back to the year 2024. Referring to that Instagram example again, even though the app was created in 2010, Instagram didn’t become something everyone had on their phone until a couple of years later, around 2012-2013.
You can also take note of how this Jupiter-Uranus conjunction will effect you on an individual level. Looking at your own chart, you will want to locate the house ruled by Taurus. Refer to the diagram below for a visual. How are you seeing accelerated change or sudden ideas coming to you that are related to the themes of that house in your chart? How might you want to go against the grain, take a risk, and try out something new in that part of your life? How can you have greater freedom and independence there?
For the Aries rising chart above, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is in their 2nd house of money and self starting business. So someone with an Aries rising may have an idea to start their own business or change up their approach to work.
I also wrote out what this conjunction means for each rising sign in my Aries season monthly forecast horoscopes. So refer back to those if you want some added insight from me.
Finally, if you have Taurus planets or angles right around 21 degrees of this sign, then this conjunction may have a larger impact on you. You may notice how celebrities and people in the public eye that receive more praise and attention at this time will likely have Taurus placements in their chart right around this 21 degree marker. Emma Stone, who just won an Academy Award for best actress, has her Midheaven at 23 degrees of Taurus, only 2 degrees way from this Jupiter-Uranus conjunction. The singer Ke$ha had a breakout album at the last Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Pisces in 2010. It felt like she literally came out of nowhere at that time, and she has a Pisces sun and moon, so that conjunction affected her in a very significant way.
I hope this helped you to better interpret what this transit could bring up! If you want more information on Jupiter-Uranus alignments throughout history, I highly recommend the book Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas.
That was so interesting and informative. Thank you
I have my moon in Taurus (11H) at 21 degrees - very curious how this conjunction will play out for me. I'm also a Cancer rising, so I guess that makes it even more influential.
Regards the rise of crypto currency, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Pluto in Capricorn has really exposed the traditional banking system and its corruption and flaws (and all other sorts of institutions really). I think Pluto in Aquarius will be about building new, more egalitarian structures - crypto is all about a decentralized way to do finance and an alternative to the current debt-based system. Anyway I did a deep dive on this when mercury was in my Aqua 8th house, haha.
