Taurus Season Monthly Forecast
The Sun moves into Taurus, Jupiter + Uranus conjunction, full moon in Scorpio, Mars conjunct Neptune, Mercury retrograde ends, Mars enters Aries, new moon in Taurus, Venus and Mercury move to Taurus.
Finally, the best time of the year has arrived! Taurus season is my favorite season, because it involves a lot of nature, shopping, and slowing down to appreciate the beauty in life. Also, eclipse season is finally over, so we’re settling down a bit this month and there will likely be less chaos. In addition, Mercury retrograde is lifting right at the start of Taurus season too, so you should be receiving clarity on how to best proceed in whatever area of your life has been hit with delays or confusion recently.
Let’s first get into the relevant transits taking place this Taurus season, before I then go over what everything means for your individual rising sign.
The main underlying transit for Taurus season is obviously that the sun will be moving through Taurus from April 19 - May 20. General Taurus season themes that may pop up over the next month for everyone could be about finances, creativity, connecting with your physical body, getting outside more often, or partaking in hands on activities like arts and crafts, playing a musical instrument, cooking, etc.
On April 20, Jupiter and Uranus will make an exact conjunction in the sign of Taurus. I went over in depth what this transit may bring up for the world in general in a recent newsletter I sent out. However, you can expect this transit to bring change, innovation, and a desire to have greater freedom in the Taurus ruled house of your chart. Expect this big transit to get fully awakened when we have the new moon in Taurus activate it on May 8. More on that below.
The first lunation of the month will happen on April 23, when we get a full moon happening at 4 degrees of Scorpio. Whereas Taurus season is a lot about enjoying the material pleasures of life, the few days surrounding the full moon will urge you to step back and consider what you value on a more internal and spiritual level. You may be facing repressed emotions around this time, and you could be working to either improve upon or release yourself from attachments and patterns that are preventing you from growing as a person. You will also favor deeper connections with people around this time, rather than spreading yourself too thin with a bunch of shallow social interactions.
The full moon is also square to Pluto in Aquarius, which will amplify this quality of self transformation. You could be identifying where you’re struggling to be in control too much, or you might be swiftly cutting a situation, relationship or mindset out of your life that is no longer serving you.
It’s also important to note that the ruling planet of this full moon is Mars, and at the time of the full moon, Mars will be in Pisces, conjunct Neptune there. This throws an element of confusion into the mix. You may have feelings of self doubt come up around the full moon, or you may be particularly sensitive. You could find it harder to focus, or it may be a bit more challenging to identify where you should be directing your energy. Try not to push yourself too hard around the end of April. This Mars-Neptune conjunction won’t go exact until April 28, so that entire last week of the month might be low energy or emotional. Try turning to a spiritual or artistic practice to calm down.
On a more positive note, Mercury retrograde is ending on April 25. Mercury retrograde began on April 1, so for the last several weeks you may have felt like your life has slowed down, and you could have been met with delays at work, or there may have been a problem that you’ve needed to communicate about in a relationship. You could have also been reflecting more on the past. Mercury will continue to remain in Aries until the end of Taurus season, when it moves into Taurus on May 15. So a lot of your mental energy is still being directed towards that Aries ruled house of your chart for now.
Another significant Aries transit that is happening this Taurus season is that Mars will move into Aries on May 1, and Mars will then move on to conjunct the North Node in Aries on May 18. Typically, when Mars meets up with the nodal axis, it sets into motion the energy initiated by the eclipses. So if by May you haven’t seen any major developments take place in the Aries ruled house of your chart, you can expect Mars to bring the action. Whereas activity got slowed down in this part of your chart during Aries season because of the Mercury retrograde, things will now be speeding up in this area of your life and you could be inspired to make a firm decision or initiate a new project or opportunity there.
Returning to Taurus themes though: Venus will move into Taurus on April 29, a new moon will take place in Taurus on May 7 (May 8 if you’re in time zones ahead of America), and Mercury will enter Taurus on May 15.
The new moon will be taking place at 18 degrees of Taurus, which is pretty close to both Jupiter and Uranus. If you hadn’t noticed fresh opportunities or change taking place in the Taurus ruled house in the earlier part of Taurus season, this new moon will set those things into motion. It’s super helpful that the ruler of the new moon, Venus, is in the sign of its domicile, and the new moon will also be sextile to Saturn in Pisces. I see this new moon as a productive, pleasant one. Whatever you decide to initiate around this time or whichever opportunities come your way, expect them to flow easily, without you running into obstacles or delays. This will be a welcome reprieve after the eclipses we’ve just come out of.
As for Mercury entering Taurus, you may be more creatively inspired as we head into the second half of May. It could also be that you’re focused on learning practical, everyday information, like how to properly manage your money, cook a recipe, take care of your garden, or sew a button back on your clothing. These things may sound silly and not that significant, but they’re all about returning your thoughts to what’s right in front of you and enjoying the present moment.
Let’s now get into what all of this means for your individual rising sign….
